Description

A warm, cozy apple crisp with a buttery oat streusel topping—simple, rustic, and perfect for fall cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cold butter (cut into small cubes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the apples, granulated sugar, flour, salt, and cinnamon until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the coated apples into a buttered baking dish to form your apple layer.
  4. In another bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  5. Add the cold cubed butter to the oat mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work it into a crumbly streusel.
  6. Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden and the apples are bubbling.

Notes

Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
